LAGUNA, Philippines – Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan (XU-ADC) XCEED clinched the championship title in the Alliance Games S4 Nationals: Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) after a thrilling final against University of San Agustin (USA) SAGE Esports.

Both teams performed exceptionally as they both swept their opponents 3-0 in the playoffs. In the best-of-5 final, USA won Hardpoint 250-176. XU-ADC responded with victories in Search and Destroy 7-3 and Control 3-2, staging a remarkable comeback from 0-2. USA won the second Hardpoint 250-147, showcasing their strength in that mode. The decisive second Search and Destroy saw XU-ADC prevail 7-2, leveraging their best game mode to secure the win

XU-ADC considered USA their toughest competitor, having previously defeated the 3-time CODM champions, De La Salle University’s Viridis Arcus. To prepare, players ADR and MOYY explained how they scrimmed with USA and other top teams in order to learn how to play against them. This worked in their favor as XU-ADC knew USA’s strengths and weaknesses, and thus knew exactly how to counter USA. When losing gunfights, XU-ADC would shift to prioritizing objectives and utility usage to secure points.

With this win, XU-ADC has swept the mobile games competition as they were also crowned champions in Alliance Games S4 Nationals: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. XU-ADC are happy to have represented Mindanao throughout this tournament and are looking forward to showing everyone what XCEED is made of.

Congratulations for exceeding your limits, XU-ADC!
