Lurker, Cosplayer Turned President Leads UE Zenith Esports

Andra "Arrisa" Topico learned about AcadArena and kept an eye out if her university has an esports organization. She found UE Zenith Esports (ZE) and they also found her.

“What got me into UEZE was really cosplaying!” Arrisa shared. “An officer from the org contacted me, asking whether or not I would like to participate in an AcadArena event through cosplay.”

Arrisa climbed the ranks of the organization from team manager, to treasurer to now president. She notes what kept her going was her vision to reunite all the enthusiasts and empower them.

The Warriors debuted in UAAP Esports this year with teams competing for VALORANT, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and NBA2k.

For Arrisa, however, UEZE’s vision for the greater UE community has not been reached yet. “Whether or not you are a competitive player, casual gamer, or even just a fan of gaming, tech, and pop culture in general, UE Zenith aims to be a safe space for all of you.”

It’s with clubs like UEZE that we are reminded that esports is just a subset of gaming culture. With this inclusive mindset, no doubt UE ZE can do their “Unleash Your Potential” tagline justice.
