Going Back Home: AdU Alumnus Leads Adamson Falcons after Amateur Stint

Esports, UAAP

August 22, 2024

The typical esports journey we usually see are students growing into their role and finding their calling, earning experience in college to apply in the real world. For Dio Robles, the Head Coach of the Adamson Falcons, it is the reverse.

Dio, a Falcon alumnus himself, started his esports journey back in November 2021 when he created his own MLBB team. They consistently became one of the top contenders in some major amateur tournaments. With a lot of guts, skill and networking, Dio made a lot of connections in the amateur and professional scene.

Dio brought back his years of experience and knowledge back home for the inaugural year of UAAP Esports.

“Building team from the ground up is no easy task,” Dio shared. “The people running our UAAP Team is a combination of my connections in the Amateur and Professional scene, and Adamson University.”

Dio noted how it was challenging to scout talent due to the low tryout numbers, especially with the rigorous demands the tournament has.

But with more generous alumni like Dio returning to their alma mater, Adamson will be a nest for strong esports talent.
